Our Story
Maaruma - Li AMS are an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation operating on Gamilaraay, Kamilaroi and Gomeroi Country.
Maaruma - Li AMS is a not -for-profit organisation, incorporated with ORIC on the 27 June 2023.
Maaruma - Li AMS is established as a public benevolent institution, to provide relief of poverty or distress (sickness, disability, destitution, suffering, misfortune or helplessness) to people in need, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We were established in consultation with local Elders, Cultural leaders, local and surrounding Aboriginal communities and members.
Our Services
We offer Culturally governed, trauma informed holistic primary healthcare, for our Mob in Coonabarabran, and across the Warrumbungle LGA.
We are proud to provide a Culturally safe place where individuals and families can access;
Primary Healthcare services, programs and clinics tailored and grounded in Culture, Integrated Domestic and Family Violence Service (IDFVS) program and services,
Social and Emotional Wellbeing support (Counselling, Psychology and Trauma Informed support and healing programs), Nursing Clinics, Child and Family Health Clinics, Mental Health, Alcohol and other drugs, and court support advocacy and clinics.
We are inclusive and we advocate with and for our community, and we offer support services face to face and via telehealth.

Support from pregnancy through to school age.

Programs and Services are provided face to face and via telehealth across the Warrumbungle LGA

Our service is led by community, for community, and guided by the wisdom of our Elders. We will support our mob with wraparound Culturally governed services and programs delivered on Gamilaraay, Kamilaroi and Gomeroi Country.
